In what could be described as the perfect garden, our 'little' plot in Fairfield had everything but weeds. Well, sometimes it had weeds.
Here, Clara Pauline Kunkel Updike Banning, AKA "Mother," stands amid what appears to be a somewhat eclectic mix of stuff. I can't recall what those tall random plants were, though I don't think we could eat it. Yucca, iris, cabbage, beans, strawberries, corn ... we grew it all.
